The Man Who Knew Too Little

(1997)Directed by Jon Amiel94 min · PGComedy, Crime, Action
“He’s on a mission so secret, even he doesn’t know about it.”

Wallace Ritchie (Bill Murray), an American video-store clerk, lands in London to visit his brother James (Peter Gallagher) and is handed a ticket to an audience-participation game. A wrong phone call and a case of mistaken identity pull him into a real international plot, which Wallace takes for part of the show. Jon Amiel plays the confusion at a quick pace, and the joke is how happily Wallace walks through danger believing none of it is real.
