The Man Who Sleeps
“Just to wait until there is nothing left to wait for.”
A young student (Jacques Spiesser) stops going to his exams and lets the world go quiet around him. He asks for nothing beyond what keeps him alive, and a woman's voice (Ludmila Mikaël) narrates his days in the second person, as if talking him through them. Queysanne, who co-directed with Georges Perec, author of the novel, films the Paris rooms and streets with a fixed, patient stillness.
