The Man Who Will Come

Martina (Greta Zuccheri Montanari) is a young girl in a farming village in 1943, and she has not spoken since her baby brother died. Around her, the adults argue over how much to help the partisans while the Germans draw closer, and Giorgio Diritti follows the family through ordinary farm work. Martina watches it all in silence, carrying a new baby brother's arrival and the weight of what she cannot say.
