James Bond (Roger Moore) is sent after the Solex Agitator, a stolen device that turns the sun's heat into a weapon, and the trail runs through Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee), a hitman who charges a million a job. Guy Hamilton follows Bond to a Thai island, where Mary Goodnight (Britt Ekland) joins him and Scaramanga waits with a private maze. Bond and Scaramanga are close to mirror images, two professionals who know exactly how the other works.
