The Marsh King's Daughter

“Fear the past or face it.”

Helena (Daisy Ridley) has spent her adult life trying to be an ordinary woman, and she has told almost no one that her father is the Marsh King, the man who held her and her mother captive in the wilderness. Neil Burger starts the story when Jacob (Ben Mendelsohn) escapes from prison and Helena is pulled back toward the place she fled. What she learned from him as a child, and how much of him is still in her, is the question the film won't leave alone.
