The Masque of the Red Death

“Horror has a face.”

Prince Prospero (Vincent Price) wants to sit out the Red Death behind the walls of his castle, and he will keep his pleasures going while the plague empties the countryside around him. Roger Corman fills the castle with a succession of color-washed rooms and shuts the doors on the sick villagers outside. Inside, Prospero presides over the revels and the cruelty alike, certain that his wealth and his appetite will hold the dying world at bay.
