The Match Factory Girl

Iris Rukka (Kati Outinen) spends her days at a match factory, putting in her hours and then going home to her mother (Elina Salo) and stepfather (Esko Nikkari), who barely look up. Aki Kaurismäki films her in the dancehall, waiting at the edge of the floor for someone to cross it to her. When Aarne (Vesa Vierikko) finally does, he gives her a night she can't put away.
