The Men Who Stare at Goats

“No goats. No glory.”

A reporter in Iraq, Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor), meets a man named Lyn Cassady (George Clooney) who says he once served in the U.S. Army's New Earth Army, a unit that used paranormal powers on missions. Grant Heslov plays the claim straight, with Bill Django (Jeff Bridges) and Larry Hooper (Kevin Spacey) filling in the unit's history in flat, deadpan voices. Under the jokes sits a plain question about how far men will go to believe their own hopes for the world.
