The Merciless

“Careful who you trust.”

Han Jae-ho (Sul Kyung-gu) is a convict inside a Korean prison who has set his sights on running a crime organization once he gets out. He takes a newcomer under his wing, the ambitious Jo Hyun-su (Yim Si-wan), and the two build a trust that carries them past the gates and into a plan to take the organization over. Byun Sung-hyun stages the violence in tight, hard-edged bursts, and he lets the nightlife around them stay slick and cold.
