The Mermaid

“Half Fish, Half Human, 100% Assassin.”

Liu Xuan (Deng Chao) is a playboy developer whose real estate project is closing in on a stretch of coast where mermaids live. They send Shan (Lin Yun), a young mermaid, to stop him, and she goes in the role of an assassin. Stephen Chow stages their first meetings as slapstick, Xuan flailing, Shan with her tail hidden under a long skirt, and the sea waiting beyond the construction site.
