The Merry Gentleman

“A man with a secret. A woman with a past.”

Kate Frazier (Kelly Macdonald) leaves an abusive husband and starts over in Chicago, where she takes an office job and rents a small apartment. Across the way she meets Frank Logan (Michael Keaton), a quiet, suicidal hit man, though she has no idea what he does for a living. Keaton, directing for the first time, keeps the camera still and the Chicago winter pale, and he lets the two of them sit in silence.
