“For the first time... the vast, spectacular drama that changed the world!”

In sixth-century Mecca, a trader's city of caravans and idols, a man receives his first revelation and tells only those closest to him for three years. When he finally preaches in public, Abu Sufyan (Michael Ansara) and his wife Hind (Irene Papas), who rule the city, set out to crush him, and his followers are hunted and tortured. Moustapha Akkad never shows the Prophet's face, so the film is built on the people around him, with Hamza (Anthony Quinn) among them.
