“The Scars of War Will Last Forever.”

Staff Sergeant Will Montgomery (Ben Foster) comes home wounded from Iraq and is posted to the Army's Casualty Notification service, where Captain Tony Stone (Woody Harrelson) teaches him the job. They walk up to front doors and tell families that a son or a husband is dead. Oren Moverman follows the two men from house to house, and the film keeps coming back to how much a soldier can carry once the war is behind him.
