The Solomons leave the city behind for a sunflower farm in North Dakota, hoping the quiet will do the family some good. Teenage Jess (Kristen Stewart) and her younger brother start seeing apparitions almost at once, and the attacks follow. The Pang Brothers keep the dread tightly wound, with Jess warning her parents (Dylan McDermott, Penelope Ann Miller), who don't believe her, before the family is lost.
