The Middle of the World
Romão (Wagner Moura) is illiterate and out of work, and he has made up his mind that a decent job is waiting for him in Rio de Janeiro. He sets out from Paraíba on bicycles with his wife Rose (Cláudia Abreu) and their five children, a family of seven facing 2,000 miles of the Brazilian hinterlands. Vicente Amorim keeps the camera on the family itself, the way they quarrel, share what little they have and keep moving, based on a true story.
