The Midwife

Claire (Catherine Frot), a midwife who has given her working life to other people's births, learns the maternity clinic where she works is about to close. Then Béatrice (Catherine Deneuve), her father's former mistress, turns up, capricious and selfish, nothing like her. Martin Provost sets the two women against each other, and Claire stands to lose the work that has defined her.
