The Milky Way

Pierre (Paul Frankeur) and Jean (Laurent Terzieff) are two drifters walking from France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, half tramps and half pilgrims. Along the road they meet strangers who are truculent, violent, or just plain bizarre, and their adventures run from the mysterious to the erotic and the supernatural. Luis Buñuel strings these encounters together without any hurry, one stop after another, and he treats the road like a late-night dream.
