“Four women went to Lourdes in search of a miracle.”

Nobody on the Dublin street where Lily Fox (Maggie Smith) lives has ever been farther than the edge of the city, and now a parish trip is carrying a handful of women to Lourdes, the French town known for its miracles. Thaddeus O'Sullivan sends Lily along with Eileen Dunne (Kathy Bates) and Chrissie Ahearn (Laura Linney), who returns after years away. Chrissie and the old neighbours have to share the road, and the old hurts come on the trip too.
