The Miser

Harpagon (Louis de Funès) is a miser who counts what he owns and resents what he spends, and he has decided who his two grown children will marry. Cléante and his sister Elise are each already in love, and neither has dared to tell him. Jean Girault and de Funès adapt Molière's play for the screen, with Michel Galabru as Maître Jacques, and de Funès in full flight, clutching his money and eyeing every servant.
