The Misfortunates

Thirteen-year-old Gunther Strobbe (Kenneth Vanbaeden) wants out of the house he's growing up in, where his father and three uncles drink, leave the trash where it lands, and expect him to turn out the same. Felix van Groeningen adapts Dimitri Verhulst's novel and plays the family's drunken days as both a joke and a hazard. Gunther loves these men, and that love is the thing that keeps him in the house.
