The Monkey

“Everybody dies. And that's fucked up.”

Twin brothers Hal and Bill (both Theo James) are boys when they find a wind-up monkey in their father's old things, and each turn of its key is followed by someone dying in a way nobody could have planned. Twenty-five years on, the brothers have drifted apart, and the toy starts up again. Osgood Perkins plays the deaths as flat, matter-of-fact jokes and lets the blood arrive in the middle of a perfectly ordinary afternoon.
