A monkey born from a heavenly stone takes the supernatural powers of heaven for himself and goes to war against it. Sun Wukong (Donnie Yen) fights the court of the Jade Emperor (Chow Yun-Fat) and the Bull Demon King (Aaron Kwok Fu-shing), and Soi Cheang stages it all in a crowded fantasy spectacle. For his defiance, Wukong is locked under a mountain for 500 years.
