“From the Sensational Stage Hit That Ran 3 years on Broadway!”

Patty O'Neill (Maggie McNamara) wants to be a young woman who says what she thinks, and on the observation deck of the Empire State Building she tells an architect, Donald Gresham (William Holden), exactly that. Soon she is also being pursued by David Slater (David Niven), an older man with his own plans for her. Her announcement that she means to wait until her wedding night leaves both men with the same problem and a growing rivalry.
