The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

Clary Fray (Lily Collins) is an ordinary teenager in New York until she witnesses a murder by robed figures and realizes they are Shadowhunters, warriors who hunt demons. Jace Wayland (Jamie Campbell Bower) and his fellow Nephilim tell her she has the blood to join their ranks, though her past begins to crack open. Harald Zwart layers the film in shadow and gold, moving between the mundane city and a hidden world.
