The Most Hated Woman in America

In the United States of the 1960s and after, Madalyn Murray O'Hair (Melissa Leo) builds a public name and an organization around being the country's loudest atheist. Tommy O'Haver follows her from that rise toward her death, with David Waters (Josh Lucas) and her son Jon Garth Murray (Michael Chernus) close at hand. She is blunt, grasping and sure of herself, and the film keeps asking what her certainty costs her.
