In the cheap motels of Reno, Nevada, brothers Frank (Emile Hirsch) and Jerry Lee (Stephen Dorff) live on the edge of broke, with little to hold them there but each other. After a fatal hit-and-run, they leave town in a hurry. The Polsky brothers, Alan and Gabe, adapted Willy Vlautin's novel and shot it around Reno and Virginia City, with animated sequences drawn by Mike Smith.
