The Motive

In a Spanish apartment building where the neighbors know one another's business, Álvaro (Javier Gutiérrez) sits down each day to write the book that will make him a serious author. He has no story, so he starts working on the people around him, Amanda (María León) among them, and takes notes on what his small cruelties set off. Manuel Martín Cuenca keeps him in the frame at his desk, pen in hand, the blank page waiting.
