The Mummy

(1959)Directed by Terence Fisher88 minHorror
“Torn from the tomb to terrify the world!”

The archaeologists who opened the 4,000-year-old tomb of Princess Ananka are being murdered one at a time. John Banning (Peter Cushing), laid up with a broken leg, searches for the killer while Kharis (Christopher Lee), a high priest of Egypt, walks the English countryside, brought back by the ancient gods to avenge the desecration. Terence Fisher tells it as a story about the dead refusing to stay buried, and about the price of digging them up.
