Yousef Bey (John Carradine), an Egyptian priest, crosses to America to take back the bodies of the princess Ananka and Kharis (Lon Chaney Jr.), the mummy sworn to guard her. Then he learns her spirit now lives in a young woman of Egyptian descent, Amina Mansouri (Ramsay Ames), and sets out to find her. Reginald Le Borg directs it at a slow, uneasy pace, with the dread in the waiting between Kharis's footsteps.
