The Music of Chance

“Jack Pozzi is about to take the biggest gamble of his life …”

A gambler named Jack Pozzi (James Spader) and a drifter named Jim Nashe (Mandy Patinkin) sit down at a card table with two wealthy men who are far out of their league. Philip Haas, adapting Paul Auster's novel, gives Calvin Murks (M. Emmet Walsh) and Bill Flower (Charles Durning) the patience of men who have never had to hurry. Every hand raises what the two strangers owe, and neither has a way to pay it.
