The Nasty Girl
Sonja (Lena Stolze) enters a school essay contest on her hometown during the Third Reich and goes looking for records, only to find the town would rather she stopped. Michael Verhoeven, working from the true story of Anna Rosmus, shows the doors closing around her as the community turns against her. The town's silence about its past is held in place by the people who live there, and Sonja is the one pulling at it.
