(1982)Directed by Vittorio Taviani, Paolo Taviani105 minWar, Drama

In 1944, word spreads through a Tuscan village that the Germans mean to blow it up and the Americans are about to arrive. Galvano (Omero Antonutti) leads a group of villagers out into the countryside, hoping to meet the liberators. The Taviani brothers set the walk on the Night of San Lorenzo, when shooting stars are said to grant wishes. Galvano and Concetta (Margarita Lozano) cross it side by side, two older people holding on to each other.
