The Nightcomers

At an English manor, two orphaned children are looked after by a governess, Miss Jessel (Stephanie Beacham), and a housekeeper, Mrs. Grose (Thora Hird). Peter Quint (Marlon Brando), the groundskeeper, takes a hold on Jessel and on the children. Michael Winner stages their slow corruption in a story that comes before Henry James's "The Turn of the Screw."
