The Nightingale

“Her song will not be silenced.”

In 1825 Van Diemen's Land, Clare (Aisling Franciosi) is a 21-year-old Irish convict still serving under the British officer Hawkins (Sam Claflin), who has taken her husband and infant daughter from her. Jennifer Kent sends her after him through the rugged Tasmanian wilderness, with Billy (Baykali Ganambarr), an Aboriginal tracker carrying his own losses, as her guide. Neither trusts the other, and the road ahead is long and violent.
