Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon), the skeletal king of Halloween Town, discovers a colorful world devoted to Christmas and becomes entranced by it. He decides to remake Christmas in his own image, enlisting the misfit creatures of his dark kingdom to help. Sally (Catherine O'Hara), a ragdoll creation with doubts, watches from a hill as Jack stands alone in the snow, his pumpkin head glowing orange against the winter dark.
