The North Star

“A rolling wall of hell that couldn't be stopped... A handful of men who had to stop it!”

In June 1941, a Ukrainian farming village is a place of weddings, school friends and neighbors who know each other's business. Lewis Milestone follows Kolya Simonov (Dana Andrews), Marina Pavlov (Anne Baxter) and the villagers around Dr. Kurin (Walter Huston) as the German invasion arrives. The village belongs to the people who farm it and raise their children there, and the army coming down the road has no claim on it.
