The Nutty Boy

“You will see yourself in him”

Menino Maluquinho (Samuel Costa) is a happy-go-lucky ten-year-old growing up in a Brazilian city in the 1960s, drawn from the book and comic by the cartoonist Ziraldo. Helvécio Ratton follows him through the days at home with his mother (Patricia Pillar) and father (Roberto Bomtempo), and with the grandfather he calls Vovô Passarinho (Luiz Carlos Arutin). The boy runs loud and fast through every scene, and the house around him stays a warm, crowded place.
