“A truth too frightening to ignore”

Buenos Aires, 1983, in the last turbulent days of Argentina's military dictatorship. Alicia Marnet (Norma Aleandro) teaches high school history, lives comfortably with her husband Roberto (Héctor Alterio), and has never had reason to doubt the story of how their adopted daughter Gaby came to them. Luis Puenzo follows her as the questions start, and Alicia keeps asking them even when the people closest to her would rather she stopped.
