The Oklahoma Kid

(1939)Directed by Lloyd Bacon85 minWestern, History
“Greater Than "Cimarron" - Packed with Thrills - Loaded with Action . . . As an Exciting page from American history is unfolded upon the screen !”

Jim Kincaid (James Cagney) is the outlaw everyone calls the Oklahoma Kid, a gunslinger in a broad-brimmed hat who takes the stage money that Whip McCord (Humphrey Bogart) has already stolen. McCord stakes a sooner claim on the land meant for a new town, then frames Kincaid's father for a murder and turns a mob against him. Lloyd Bacon sets the two against each other, McCord in black, Kincaid rubbing thumb and forefinger together to say he can feel that air.
