“This story is mostly true.”

In 1981, Forrest Tucker (Robert Redford) breaks out of San Quentin at seventy and goes straight back to robbing banks. Detective John Hunt (Casey Affleck) takes up the case and finds himself admiring the man's patience for the work, while Jewel (Sissy Spacek) loves him in spite of it. David Lowery lets Redford fold his cardigan and smile politely at a teller, the gun staying hidden in his jacket.
