The Old Oak

“It's not where you're from, it's what you bring.”

The Syrian families arrive to find the empty houses of a former mining village waiting for them, and some of the locals do not hide what they think about it. TJ Ballantyne (Dave Turner) runs the town's last pub, the Old Oak, and is barely keeping it open. Ken Loach follows him as he meets Yara (Ebla Mari), a refugee with a camera, and a friendship takes hold between them.
