Egon Olsen (Ove Sprogøe) has smuggled a fortune to Spain with his two cronies, Benny (Morten Grunwald) and Kjeld (Poul Bundgaard), and all three are living in a whirl of pleasures. Erik Balling gives Egon a case of money chained to him, though Bøffen still finds a way to steal it, and Egon lands in jail once more. Money in this world never makes anyone happy, and the gang drifts through the sunshine still wanting a plan.
