Egon Olsen (Ove Sprogøe) wants the one thing the gang's plans rarely give him, which is to come out ahead of the man who hired him. A baron short of money pays them to stage the theft of an antique Chinese vase, and Egon is furious when he finds out he has been fooled. Erik Balling sends Egon, Benny (Morten Grunwald) and Kjeld (Poul Bundgaard) after revenge, with a cheap Hong Kong copy and a plan timed to the "Elverhøj" overture.
