The One That Got Away

(1957)Directed by Roy Ward Baker111 minWar, Drama

Franz von Werra (Hardy Krüger) is a Luftwaffe pilot captured in Britain during the Second World War, and he has decided that being a prisoner is only a temporary condition. Roy Ward Baker follows him from the interrogation rooms to the camp at Grizedale, where each attempt to break out ends in another cell and another set of questions. It is the true story of the only German captured in Britain who made it home, and it is about a man who cannot stop trying.
