The Order

“Behind the disguise of good hides the soul of evil.”

Father Alex Bernier (Heath Ledger), a renegade priest in a secret Order within the Church, is sent to Rome to look into the death of one of its most revered members. The killings that follow are strangely alike, and Bernier, with Mara Sinclair (Shannyn Sossamon) near the case, follows them toward an evil he never expected to meet. Brian Helgeland, who also wrote it, builds a story about faith being tested by things the Church cannot explain.
