“Two sisters divided for the love of a king.”

Mary Boleyn (Scarlett Johansson) is a young wife with a quiet life, until her father, Sir Thomas (Mark Rylance), and her uncle push her toward King Henry (Eric Bana). Justin Chadwick fills the Tudor court with velvet, candlelight and whispered bargains, and Mary's sister Anne (Natalie Portman) watches the king's attention fall on the wrong Boleyn girl. The two of them are bound by blood and by the family's ambition, and they begin to fight over the same man.
