The Ottoman Republic

Sultan VII. Osman (Ata Demirer) rules a modern Ottoman state that never became a republic, and he wears a suit under his caftan to do it. Gani Müjde sets the story in a country where Atatürk never lived, so Ankara is not the capital and the signs and license plates are printed in both Turkish and Arabic. The Sultan goes through his days among aides and relatives, a man holding up a throne the rest of the world has long outgrown.
