The Outlaw and His Wife

Halla (Edith Erastoff) is a widow running her own farm in Iceland when a stranger, Kári (Victor Sjöström), comes to work for her, and what she wants is simply not to be alone with the land anymore. They fall in love, until he is named as Eyvind, a thief who stole because his family was starving. Sjöström directed and starred, and he films the mountains as the place the two of them have left to go.
