The Outpost

“The mission was survival.”

Staff Sergeant Clint Romesha (Scott Eastwood) arrives at Combat Outpost Keating, in Afghanistan, hoping to keep his men alive through a deployment nobody else seems to want. The camp sits at the bottom of a valley ringed by three mountains, exposed to anyone on the high ground. Rod Lurie puts the camera down among the soldiers and keeps it moving, so the outpost never feels like a place you can see out of.
