The Ox-Bow Incident

“Lynch law rules the mob!”

A rancher is reported murdered and his cattle gone, and nobody in the Nevada town can say for certain who did it. Gil Carter (Henry Fonda) rides in with the men who go after the killers, and they come on three strangers asleep in a canyon, among them Donald Martin (Dana Andrews). William A. Wellman keeps the argument over law versus the rope going while the posse waits for the night to pass, and the three men's lives hang on it.
